Botha-Bothe, May 16 — Another accused, Leaoa Mokoenehane (67), one of the 10 men from Sekubu in Botha-Bothe accused of raping a 31 year-old mentally disabled woman, has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment without the option of a fine by Magistrate Relebohile Khongoana.
The first accused, Seqebo Molato (42) of Sekubu, was sentenced this week to 15 years in prison with no option of a fine by Magistrate ‘Manyefolo Ramakhula.
During the testimonies, Prosecutor ‘Mabathobakae Letsie explained that if the accused did not plead guilty to the charges brought against him, she would call upon the victim to narrate how the events happened.
Advocate Letsie stated that even though the victim couldn’t remember the day and month clearly, the incidents occurred in 2024 when she was visiting a villager and was called by Mokoenehane.
