Maseru, July.05 — Marking the 105th anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Chinese Ambassador Mr. Yang Xiaokun credited the party’s unprecedented 105-year longevity and development to its continuous, innovative adaptation of Marxism to changing Chinese realities, during an exclusive interview with the agency on Sunday.
The Communist Party of China, founded in 1921, has been the sole governing party of the People’s Republic of China since 1949 with its founding marked on July 01.
This modern interpretation of Marxism is tailored to 21st-century China, blending Marxist theory with core Chinese culture.
Shaped by the Party and the people, it serves as the ultimate guide to achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Moving forward, the Party will continue to apply these Marxist principles to Chinese traditions, using them to navigate and understand the modern world.

He said for over a century, the Party has remained steadfast in its core mission, the people.
He mentioned that the CPC is deeply committed to its people-first philosophy, epitomized by the General Secretary Xi Jinping’s assertion that “the country is the people and the people are the country”.
“Throughout its history of revolution, national reconstruction and reform, the Party has consistently championed the public interest.
Since its 18th National Congress, the CPC has actively pursued common prosperity and fairness through several major initiatives including lifting nearly 100 million rural residents out of extreme poverty, meeting the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development reduction targets a decade ahead of schedule”, he said.
He added that guided by the vision that “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets,” the country has aggressively pursued ecological conservation.
The CPC has established the world’s largest networks for education, social security and medical healthcare.
Ambassador Yang indicated that during his anniversary speech, President XI Jinping and also General Secretary highlighted “the commitment to self-strengthening that ensures it always keeps its vitality”.

Therefore he said, the party has reinforced self-building by maintaining members’ vitality, scrutinizing power usage and preventing vested interest groups emphasizing that since its 18th National Congress, resolute anti-corruption efforts, allowing no safe havens have secured a crushing victory.
A defining philosophy of the party is summarized in the pledge: the CPC would rather offend a few thousand corrupt officials than fail to live up to the expectations of the 1.4 billion Chinese people.
Moreover Ambassador Yang credited a century-old foundation of strict discipline, localized organization and the rule of law for the ruling party’s continued efficiency and strong public ties.
“At the heart of this system are primary-level party organizations, the CPC’s local units established in communities, villages, schools, enterprises and social organizations.
They serve as a bridge between the party and public, translating policies into local action while bridging residents’ concerns back into the governance process”, he added.
On the other hand, Ambassador Yang emphasized that the vision of building a “community with a shared future for humanity” is China’s global contribution, charting the way forward for international development.
He said the China-Africa partnership has elevated into an “all-weather” relationship, rooted in shared histories and the mutual goals of the world’s largest developing country and developing continent.
He reiterated, “China designs its support around specific needs aligning the Belt and Road Initiative and Global Development Initiative with the African Union’s Agenda 2063”.
He highlighted that through the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), both sides are rolling out the 10 partnership actions for modernization to drive practical, structural collaboration saying representing over 2.8 billion people, China and Africa act as a core stabilizing force, promoting a multipolar world and inclusive economic globalization.
Commenting on the specific scalable lessons regarding rural revitalization being shared with the continent, Ambassador Yang emphasized that rural revitalization is a shared priority for China and African nations including Lesotho.
Adapting to diverse national conditions, he shared three core tenets of China’s agricultural and rural development strategy with Basotho friends.

He further indicated that rural revitalization is an ongoing endeavor that requires thoughtful planning, prioritization and incremental progress rather than rushed, impulsive campaigns. “Patience and a focus on solving immediate issues lay the foundation for long-term success”.
Again, he indicated that national frameworks must be customized to local realities saying that rural areas require targeted, distinctive policies rather than uniform blueprints, ensuring each community retains unique character.
Additionally, he noted that development strategies should directly address farmers’ immediate needs. “By focusing on these core issues and strengthening agricultural foundations, rural communities will experience tangible gains in security and happiness.
Meanwhile the Communist Party of China (CPC)’s apex body is the National Congress, convened every five years which elects the Central Committee. The Central Committee then selects the Politburo and its Standing Committee, the top decision-making body.
The General Secretary, currently Xi Jinping, holds the highest party, military and state positions making him the Paramount leader. The Party has over 100 million members, making it the second-largest political party globally.
