BAP DISMISSES DEPUTY LEADER

Maseru, Dec. 08—Just a day before a court hearing where the Basotho Action Party (BAP) Deputy Leader, Mr. Motlatsi Maqelepo wants intervention into a disciplinary hearing he was facing, the party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) has dismissed him.

However, in its letter of dismissal, the party informs Maqelepo that the CEC reviewed the verdict and recommendation and decided to moderate this penalty, reducing it to a suspension of seven years which comes to an end in January 2032.

The letter continues to show that the Deputy Leader is relieved of his responsibility as a CEC member, party Deputy Leader, as well as suspending him from all other committees inclusive of the party’s Parliamentary Caucus and all party activities…
