Mafeteng, March 22 — The Distrct Administrator for Mafeteng Mr. Bonang Moranye has urged members of the community at Thaba-Phechela Constituency to protect the free gift development for their benefit.
He made the remarks during the planting of 2,000 trees to mark Tree Planting Day at Ts’akh’olo on Friday where he said it is their responsibility to work together with local authorities to protect trees.
The District Administration indicated that trees are important as they produce carbon dioxide which helps with oxygen, encouraging them to always replace trees after cutting them.
Speaking at the same occasion the Acting Principal Chief of Tebang Chief Sentle Mojela warned herders and livestock owners to be cooperative and not to herd their flocks in the area as they will be punished.
Chief Sentle warned that from Friday the area has been declared as pasture where no livestock are expected to be seen grazing, telling them that the development is intended for all in the area. . . .
