DEFENCE REQUESTS DOCUMENTS 

Maseru, Aug.08—The defence in a case in which four army members are charged with attempted murder of Former Editor of the Lesotho Times and Sunday Express newspapers, Lloyd Mutungamiri, have requested a cell register, an occurrence book and detention form in relation to this matter. 

The request followed information that the police deny that the accused were ever in their custody and signed the documents.

Legal Representative for the prosecution in this case Advocate Rethabile Setlojoane stated that he believes the documents will be available on Monday next week.

The case was thus postponed to Monday for continuation. 

The defence has also challenged admissibility of evidence by Retired Captain Khotso Maanela who was testifying as the fourth witness for the prosecution. They also requested that a trial within trial be held to determine the admissibility of the evidence…
