Maseru, Sept. 30 — The Government Assets Search and Recovery Task Team (GASARTT) has called on the Portfolio Committee on the Prime Minister’s Ministries to intervene as it is working under stress due to financial constraints.
This transpired during the duo’s meeting held in Maseru on Tuesday with the objective to present GASARTT’s progress report, based on achievements and challenges amongst others.
GASARTT Chairperson Adv. Seeng Mats’osa indicated that the team’s budget was not approved but was instructed to continue its activities and procure under the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), saying the team was however extracted out of OPM’s budget thus has no budget for 2025/26 financial year.
She indicated that the team was unable to make accommodation bookings outside Maseru due to gaps approved by the OPM and the team’s logistical demands were intermingled with those of OPM thus the team experienced a challenge of communication when working outside the office as airtime was not procured…
