Mokhotlong, March 10 — Basotho farmers whose crops were affected by hailstorm should be supported with seeds by the government to restore their harvest in the next agricultural year.
The Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office Mr. Limpho Tau said this when addressing the public at the handing over ceremony of food donations held at Ha Ntsika Lekhalong within the Bobatsi Constituency in the district on Monday.

He said there is need for those who embarked in crop farming either for subsistence or commercial farming and have lost crops due to hailstorm that fell last month, damaging crops, to be assisted in order to retain their household food security.

Mr. Tau commended communities that embarked on crop farming by ploughing their fields saying the crops seen in fields was evident that they were to improve household food security for hunger alleviation.
The Minister pointed out that it is high time that Lesotho feeds her people through promotion of increased agricultural production and stop depending on food donations from other countries. . . .
