IEC HOLDS REFERENDUM CONFERENCE

Maseru, March 06 — Various sectors which included the Christian community, members of the Senate, of the National assembly, Political party representatives, Private sector and the general public gathered to discuss the Referendum Act of 2022 in a conference which was hosted by the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC).

This conference was held in Maseru on Thursday under the theme ‘The voice and the right of the Nation’.

In his keynote address, the Commissioner at IEC Mr. Tso’eu Petlane said that a referendum as the voice of the nation when well handled can help in the improvement of governance.

He said that with this event, the aim is to venture into partnerships outlining what needs to be done together stipulating the role of each party. NT/TL
