INMATES ACCESS EDUCATION IN NUMBERS

Maseru, May 26 — Deployment of new teachers at correctional institutions across the country has contributed towards the increasing number of inmates who access education within such institutions.

This was said by Crime Prevention, Rehabilitation and Reintegration of EX-Offenders Association (CRROA) Executive Director Mr. Nkalimeng Mothobi in an interview with the Agency on Sunday.

Mr. Mothobi said  the increasing number of inmates who access education within correctional institutions not only calls for deployment of more teachers but also signifies that they want to change their lives for the better, thus will live harmoniously with the society when released from prison.He indicated that the association has deployed two teachers per correctional institution who will teach inmates at primary level as well as four and two at Maseru Central Correctional Institution and Juvenile respectively who will teach inmates at secondary level…
