Maseru, Apr.09—Chief Justice Sakoane Sakoane has on Wednesday, during a dismissal roll before him, stated that lawyers should be sued for negligence.
This was after a lawyer from the law Office Advocate Molefi Masoabi requested that the Law Office be given time to re-allocate one of the cases which appeared on the dismissal roll as the lawyer who was handling it has since left the office.
The Chief Justice stated that the matter was before him in May 2019, but it is only today that re-allocation is sought. He indicated that there is no excuse to have left the matter dormant for six years. He added that it cannot be a good reason that the lawyer was sleeping on the job therefore the matter cannot be dismissed for want of prosecution…SM/BM
