MASERU– Paseka Mpokothi (31) , Palo John Posa(56), Matete Mahao (38), Ts’epo George (37)Saeaeea Ratsetse ( 45), Kutloisiso Nthonyane (50) Kamoho Masebale(34), Thabo Moiloa( 39) Kholuoe Phasumane (43) Mokiba Mokiba (44) who are officers of Lesotho Correctional Service(LCS) appeared before Magistrate Nkhethoa Molapo charged with murder of Bokang Tsoako .
The accused persons are charged with contravening the provisions of section 40(1) read with (2) of Penal code Act No.6 of 2010( Murder)
The said accused on December 22, 2023 at Lesotho Corrrec tional Services(LCS) central offices in the district of Maseru did each or all of them acting in concert and furtherance of a common purpose unlawfully and intentionally assault Bokang Tsoako by betting him with sticks, kicking him on his body, slapping him and inflicting upon him serious physical injuries that resulted to his death.
Magistrate Molapo told the accused to apply for bail in the High Court as Magistrate Court is not responsible to grant bail on such a crime.
The accused are remanded to March 03, 2026
