LEC CALLS FOR END OF VANDALISM IN ROMA VALLEY

Maseru, Oct. 22 — Lesotho Electricity Company (LEC) has strongly condemned and called for an end to vandalism of company property within the Roma Valley.

This surfaced during the public gathering held at Tloutle, Roma on Wednesday following vandalism where about three poles were cut down on Friday last week. The gathering was for Tloutle and nearby villages including Ha Seqoma, Khobeng and Ha Soibilane.

Addressing the villagers, Mr. Thamae Ngaka from LEC Public Relations called on villagers to end vandalism saying it is not only a setback in terms of development but financially as well especially since it is not the first incident in the area.

He said when making a budget they include damage that could be caused by natural disasters and not intentionally made by people. He urged villagers to refrain from vandalising property on the notion that it is the government’s saying it actually is their (public) property as it is bought through their taxes.
