Botswana, Nov. 20 — As Lesotho and Botswana will be marking their 60 years anniversary otherwise diamond jubilee independence in 2026, some are aspiring for more inclusive collaborations.
Batswana street vendors interviewed by the Agency are adamant both countries have a long standing relations citing and celebrating both countries artistic cultural heritage.
“These are some of the marks we should celebrate together while also learning and acknowledging the impact Basotho youth musicians, cultural performers are making recently,” Doreen Maemo has said.
Ms. Maemo who sells Batswana’s cultural attire in the streets of Gaborone indicated the importance of culture in nation building, urging the two countries through leadership to ensure a coordinated move so that the two nations could celebrate together by wearing their cultural attires as well as performances.
