Qacha’s Nek, Aug.24 — Today marks the second day of the Olympic Day 2024 celebrations, with hundreds of participants, including students, engaging in various environmental activities such as silt trap construction, brush control, and planting eragrostis curvula grass for soil conservation.
The event, organized by the Lesotho National Olympic Committee (LNOC) through its Sustainability in Sports Commission and led by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MEF), took place in Ha Mpiti, Ha Mosola.
The occasion was honoured by the presence of the presidents of LNOC and the Lesotho Sports and Recreation Commission (LSRC).
Speaking with the Agency on Saturday, Mrs. ‘Mabokang Mdandalaza, the Director of the LNOC Sustainability in Sports Commission, emphasized the alignment of the event with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the importance of environmental sustainability for public benefit. . .
