Maseru, Sept.21 — The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Mr. Lejone Mpotjoane participated at the High-Level Dialogue on Financing for Development at the 78th United Nations General Assembly summit in New York.
The high level dialogue was held under the theme ‘Innovative approaches and partnerships to boost private finance for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)’.
In his statement, Mr. Mpotjoane emphasized that taxation and revenue were the key areas that need cooperation, collaboration and co-investment saying that this sentiment was also echoed by the moderator of the session.
Subsequent to that session, the Minister also attended the Climate Ambition Summit with Member States, especially the G20 countries and private companies made pledges to meet the priorities of the Paris Climate Agreement.
