LNFOD CELEBRATES DISABILITY DAY

Maseru—The Lesotho Federation of Organizations of the Disabled (LNFOD) will celebrate Disability Day on December 3rd in Ha-Ntjabane, Teya-Teyaneng, Berea, under the theme “Fostering Disability Inclusive Societies for Advancing Social Progress.”

In an interview with the Agency, LNFOD District Coordinator Mrs. Motheba Makara-Mpota expressed that people with disabilities are  looking forward to this day.

“Her Majesty Queen ‘Masenate Mohato Seeiso, the patron of LNFOD, will be the guest of honor, and she will officially open the event,” Mrs. Mpota said.

She also mentioned that there would be stalls where individuals with disabilities from various groups would showcase their production.

Mrs. Mpota noted that the Ministry of Social Development is collaborating with the event organizers to ensure the day’s success.

Disability Day aims to promote awareness, understanding, and acceptance of people with disabilities while encouraging their inclusion in society, and works on a variety of issues including influencing public sector reforms, advocating for inclusive education, and for better access to Healthcare and financial grants for people with disabilities.
