LSMTA PREPARES FOR THE UPCOMING PAMO COMPETITION

MASERU — As a significance to sharpen and harness grade 11 students with critical thinking in Mathematical subjects, Lesotho Science and Mathematics Teachers Association (LSMTA) has tabled their preparedness strategies to tackle the upcoming Pan Africa Mathematics Olympiad 2026 (PAMO) competition.

In an interview with the Agency LSMTA President Mr. Keketso Leteba indicated that succeeding to their Lesotho representative students losing a game in PAMO 2025 held in Botswana as a mechanism to defeat in the next competition they will introduce a new strategy immediately upon school resumption by training plenty of students from different schools in the country and then selecting six students to represent the country in the completion.

Furthermore he noted that LSMTA during the competition that was held in Botswana this month realised that other countries such as South Africa brought at least 12 students to the competition 6 official competitors and 6 unofficial competitors with an objective that this 6 unofficial participants observed the abilities and strength needed to win in the competition consequently the unofficial participants will be accredited in the following competition. . . .
