MAHAO MURDER TRIAL TO RESUME

Maseru, Jul.24—A case in which nine army members, including former Army Commander Lieutenant General Tlali Kamoli, are charged with the murder of Maaparankoe Mahao, is on Monday next week expected to resume at the High Court.

The case was adjourned on July 04, 2025, while the current Army Commander Lieutenant General Mojalefa Letsoela was still on the stand and under cross-examination.    

In his evidence in chief, Lieutenant General Letsoela, among others, testified that an operation order dated May 13, 2015, which was issued for the arrest of mutiny suspects is invalid. He stated that it does not comply with the LDF Military Service Writing Conventions.

He insisted during cross-examination that the document is not valid. He agreed with the defence that there might be an original copy somewhere. He said the document is substantially correct but due to some missing critical factors, he disqualifies it…
