PROSECUTION WITHDRAWS CASE AGAINST NUL LECTURER’S MURDER ACCUSED

Maseru, April 27 — The prosecution has on Monday successfully applied for withdrawal of the charge of murder against Qenehelo Letoaba who allegedly killed Teboli David Makafane who was a Lecturer at the National University of Lesotho (NUL), during an incident that occured at Liphehleng in Roma on January 05 2022.

Advocate Mashapha Letsie told the court that there are some loopholes in the investigation of the matter making it not ideal for the prosecution to proceed with the case. He said a docket has to be send back for further investigations to take place. He stated that when the matter is ready, it will be reinstituted.

Reports have revealed that the accused who was only 22 years when he allegedly committed the offence, fataly stabbed the deceased, who was 34 years, several times following an argument between them at the deceased’s home.

It has been revealed that the accused is currently in custody in relation to a different matter as he was granted bail in the murder case.

The case was before Justice Ts’eliso Mokoko.
