Qinghai, Sept 21—From ancient years ago to modernized China, Qinghai people have always upheld the art of carpet crafting as a way of preserving their culture and to economically sustain their livelihoods.
Located over 3000 meters above the sea level, where one can barely consider it to be an inhabitable place, Qinghai Province remains an industrial park for companies such as Shengyuan Carpets Group Co. Ltd which is still rooted in the art of crafting ancient carpets with their origin dating back to over 2000 years ago.
When approached for a comment, Mr. Ian Wang as one of the craftsmen and also Head of International sales department at Shengyuan Carpets Group Co. Ltd highlighted that the art of making carpets through hand woven methods has always been a cultural practice in their region and it still reigns as part of the strategy to keep ethnic unity.
“The art of making hand woven carpets and making some portraits on it has always been the most adorable work for the locals of expressing their feelings, emotions and reflecting back on their ancient lifestyle”, he explained…
