MASERU – Her Majesty Queen ‘Masenate Mohato Seeiso has called on Basotho to invest in the well-being and development of children, saying the country’s future depends on how it nurtures its youngest generation.
Speaking during the 25th anniversary celebration of Beautiful Gate Lesotho, the Queen praised the organisation for its unwavering commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable children, families and communities over the past two and a half decades.
She said every child deserves quality care, protection and opportunities to reach their full potential, stressing that today’s children will become tomorrow’s leaders, teachers, healthcare professionals and innovators whose contributions will shape the nation’s future.
The Queen commended Beautiful Gate Lesotho for providing holistic support through family strengthening programmes, education, healthcare, psychosocial services and skills development, saying such interventions give children hope and a chance to overcome difficult circumstances.
She noted that a child’s present challenges should never determine their future, adding that with the right support and encouragement, vulnerable children can become productive citizens who contribute meaningfully to national development.
The Queen further said the organisation’s 25-year legacy demonstrates the importance of partnerships between communities, development partners and institutions in building a brighter future for Basotho children.
She urged individuals, organisations and stakeholders to continue working together to ensure that every child has the opportunity to grow up in a safe and supportive environment, describing investment in children as an investment in Lesotho’s long-term prosperity and stability.
Beautiful Gate Lesotho celebrated its 25th anniversary by reflecting on its journey of serving vulnerable children and families, while reaffirming its commitment to empowering future generations through holistic care and community development.
