Qacha’s Nek, July.02 — Tragedy has struck the Snake Park in Qacha’s Nek following the death of a recovered cobra that had been stolen and later retrieved.
Speaking to the Agency, the park’s owner, Mr. Nkhooa Molahlehi, confirmed the snake died today, just days after it was treated with antibiotics bought in South Africa.
The cobra had been found in the possession of 18-year-old Khotsofalang Leteba from TJ. “We tried to save it with the medication, but it was already too late,” said Mr. Molahlehi.
“The cobra had been physically mistreated. When we monitored it on Sunday, it appeared disoriented, stressed, and was bleeding from the back.” “The medication was meant to improve the snake’s condition. Unfortunately, it died,” he added. . . .
