REGULAR FLEA MARKET KEEPS ONLOOKERS ON THEIR TOES

MASERU — The Basotho Flea Market, a vibrant gathering in the heart of Maseru’s Central Business District (CBD), has become much more than just a marketplace.

In addition to driving economic growth, the event has evolved into an educational platform that fosters learning and creativity.

Speaking in an interview with the Agency on Saturday Ms. Nyalleng Theko, a second-year Tourism and Hospitality student spoke about her experience attending the event describing how the flea market has been instrumental in her academic journey, offering valuable insights and real-world applications of her studies.

Ms. Theko mentioned that being at the market has opened her eyes to the dynamics of the tourism and hospitality industry in ways she did not expect.

She indicated that it has provided her with practical knowledge on customer engagement, local culture and even events management.

Moreover, Ms. Theko noted that the event offers a unique blend of commerce, culture, and community, which has allowed her to gain a deeper understanding of how tourism and hospitality can intersect with local businesses and traditions. . . .
