Beijing, Dec 04—Remnin University China (RUC) through its school of Journalism and Communication has bid a farewell to 50 English speaking global south journalists at Beijing on Thursday where it encouraged them to go and explore more areas of future collaborations in the media sector.
The closing ceremony follows the four months China Development Studies and Media Exchange program of China International Press Communication Centre (CIPCC) 2025 (second half of the year) attended by global south journalists from regions such as Africa, Asia Pacific, Caribbean, Central and Eastern Europe.
In her remarks, RUC Dean for International Affairs Professor (Prof) Yan Yan said the four and half month’s media exchange program has been very diverse, sharing the insights of China regarding different topics, on China’s economy, good governance, environment, finance and the media impact in the rural areas.
Prof Yan further said the same media exchange program has run for over 12 years, and their School of Journalism and Communication has recently celebrated 70 years, highlighting that it has trained over 10,000 scholars, adding that today’s celebration adds more numbers of journalists being trained under the same program.
“With same knowledge gained, go and apply your journalistic skills to pioneer change, shed the light to the world”, she said…
