SADC MID TERM REVIEW OF REGIONAL STRATEGIC PLAN

MASERU — The Meeting of Southern African Development Community (SADC) Senior Officials and Key Experts on the Mid-Term Review of the SADC Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (RISDP) 2020-2030 and the SADC Resource Mobilisation Framework is currently underway from today August 04 to 05 in Antananarivo, Republic of Madagascar.

The high-level technical meeting brings together senior policymakers and thematic experts from SADC Member States, who are deliberating on the findings of the Mid-Term Review of the RISDP, a blueprint that outlines the strategic direction of SADC regional integration efforts for the decade 2020 to 2030.

Additionally, the meeting is considering the operationalisation of the SADC Resource Mobilisation Framework, which aims to ensure sustainable financing of the region’s development priorities.

The meeting is being chaired by Ambassador Albert Ranganai Chimbindi, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Zimbabwe and current Chairperson of the SADC Standing Committee of Senior Officials.

In her opening remarks on behalf of the SADC Executive Secretary, Mr. Elias Magosi, the Deputy Executive Secretary for Regional Integration, Ms. Angéle Makombo N’Tumba, emphasised the strategic importance of the meeting, noting that it addresses two critical and interconnected areas that will shape the region’s collective future. . .
