SNOW BLANKETED MAHLASELA

Maseru, April 24 — Following predictions of snow anticipation by Lesotho Meteorological Services (LMS) about snowfall in the Northern highlands which is Botha-Bothe, Thaba-Tseka as well as the Eastern highlands of Mokhotlong, on Thursday Morning snow blanketed Mahlasela.

Speaking to the Agency, Disaster Management Authority (DMA), Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mrs. Mahlape Koali pleaded with the public to refrain from taking long trips to the highlands districts during this hazardous weather to avoid the danger as the road is slippery when filled with snow.

She further stated that so far, there is still no report of a live threatening incident that occurred due to the snowfall, however they are notified about the ongoing process of applying salt on the road to reduce the risk of road accidents as well as opening a free movement for the motorists to pass.

She appealed to the nation that when staying at home, they must take precautions by staying glued to their Mass media in order for them to stay alert about the snow. MM/TL
