SOURU FM BOUNCES BACK

Qacha’s Nek, Oct. 9 — Souru FM, the voice of Qacha’s Nek, has triumphantly resumed its broadcasting today after repairing a damaged recording machine.

For the past three weeks, the station’s airwaves were filled with a continuous loop of music, a result of technical issues likely caused by power outages during the recent snowfall.

For a community-centred station like Souru FM, the technical failure was more than a mere inconvenience—it was a profound disruption in its growing connection with local listeners. As per the 2022 Broadcasting Code, Section 26 (4) & (5), broadcasters are required to ensure that recording equipment is fully functional before airing any programs. The breakdown left the station unable to broadcast its staple current affairs and popular call-in shows, creating a noticeable void in local news and discussions . . .
