STANDARD LESOTHO BANK LAUNCHES THIRD WINTER DRIVE

Maseru, July 09 — Standard Lesotho Bank has launched the third edition of its Winter Drive initiative to provide winter clothing, bedding and food to vulnerable people across the country during the cold season.

Speaking at the launch, the bank’s Head of Brand and Marketing, Ms. Palesa Ntlhakana said this year’s campaign is being held under the theme ‘Re Anetsa Mofuthu’ and forms part of activities marking the bank’s 30 years of operations in Lesotho.

She said the initiative, which was introduced three years ago, has grown into one of the bank’s community outreach programmes, benefiting hundreds of vulnerable Basotho through donations of warm clothing, blankets, food parcels and other essential items.

She pointed out that the Winter Drive reflects the institution’s commitment to improving the lives of the communities it serves. She said the bank remains committed to extending support to vulnerable people while celebrating three decades of providing banking services in the country.

She said this year’s campaign will target remote mountain communities, herd boys, vulnerable adolescent mothers, persons with disabilities and elderly citizens, who are among those most affected by the harsh winter conditions.

The statement indicates that members of the public, the bank’s clients and corporate partners are encouraged to donate clean, good-quality winter clothing, blankets, duvets, sleeping bags and non-perishable food items at any Standard Lesotho Bank branch nationwide, where collection points have been established.

It further notes that the donated items will be distributed to vulnerable communities across the country as part of efforts to alleviate the impact of winter.

The bank says the initiative is intended to encourage collective action in supporting vulnerable groups while strengthening community partnerships beyond the provision of financial services.
