Botha-Bothe, June 10 — Three men appeared before the Botha-Bothe Magistrate’s Court on charges of stock theft after allegedly stealing sheep in Clocolan, South Africa.
Of the three accused, only one has been granted bail of M6,000 with a surety of M10,000.
The accused are Ramonts’eng (Tholang) Khetheng (29) of Ha Lethota, Ngoajane, Lucas Pholoane (34) of Ha Balimo and Relebohile Manyehelo (28) of Mononts’a, Mafika-Lisiu.
They have all been charged with contravening the provisions of Section 13(3)(a) of the Stock Theft Act No. 4 of 2000, as amended by Section 13(3)(a) of the Stock Theft Act No. 5 of 2003.
The accused are alleged to have stolen the sheep on May 30, 2026, from Clifton Farm in Clocolan, South Africa. The stolen livestock consisted of eight hamels and 19 rams belonging to Duncan Alexander Martin, with an estimated value of M90,000.
Lucas Pholoane applied for bail and was able to pay the required amount and provide the surety. The other two accused have not yet applied for bail.
The matter was postponed to June 22, when Khetheng and Manyehelo are expected to apply for bail.
