MASERU — The member of parliament from stadium area constituency no: 32, Mrs. Mampho Tjabane calls upon various sectors of the society to come together and bring about innovative strategies which shall be put in place to help against youth and children’s involvement in criminal activities.
This, Mrs. Tjabane highlighted on the constituency’s annual winter tournament aimed at bringing together relevant stakeholders, children and youth to equip them with life skills, ways in which they could easily be lowered in crime as well as importance of participating in sports among others.
On behalf of Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) crime prevention unit, Inspector ‘Makarabo Sello emphasized that the country is faced with a high substance and drugs usage challenge, urging children and youth to take charge and report any related activity upon encounter to relevant authorities.
Youth commended this initiative, pleading with others to engage in such initiatives as they help shape their future.
They further dwelled on its importance, beyond just exercise and entertainment but extending to career and scholarship opportunities as well as healthy lifestyle.
The event was graced by the presence of the security sector, Bible Society Lesotho, academia as well as developmental programs as international youth fellowship among others.
