WORLD VISION LESOTHO LAUNCHES EMERGENCY RESPONSE TO FOOD CRISIS

Maseru, Feb. 05 — In light of the declaration of food insecurity issued by the Prime Minister due to the El Niño-induced drought, World Vision Lesotho has initiated an emergency response across five districts to provide essential food assistance to vulnerable households.

In an interview with Lesotho News Agency, Communications and Marketing Manager Ms. Lerato Brown, said this urgent intervention began in January 2025 and aims to alleviate the impact of the ongoing food crisis over the next three months.

“We appreciate the collaboration with local stakeholders and community members in ensuring that the response is fair and effective,” said Ms Brown.

The emergency response targets 306 households in various locations across the districts of Maseru, Mafeteng, Mokhotlong, Leribe and Berea.
