FARMING INPUTS FOR SUMMER CROPPING PURCHASED

Maseru, Aug. 11 – Farming inputs, which include seeds and fertilisers have already been purchased and are expected to be available in the country next week.

This was revealed by the Minister of Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition Mr. Thabo Mofosi at the press briefing held in Maseru on Friday with the objective to state how the government will operate in summer cropping.

Mr. Mofosi indicated that the government, through the Ministry, subsidized fertilisers by 80 percent while seeds, herbicides and pesticides will be subsidised by 70 percent.

He added that prices for farming inputs will be announced once they are available in the country. . .
