Maseru, July 21 — All blood groups are needed because the blood bank is completely empty, Lesotho Blood Transfusion Services (LBTS) Principal Laboratory Technologist Mr. Khotso Kalake has said.
He indicated that people are currently forced to donate blood for their relatives because the blood bank is completely empty.
He urged people who are willing to donate blood, are healthy and aged 18 years and above to do so and save lives, saying currently people are not donating blood as expected because it is winter and claim it is cold.
He also indicated that Queen II is still not open for blood donations however saying preparations are underway and hopefully people will donate at this hospital by festive season.
