LEPOSA TAKES PENSION FUND TO PAC

Maseru, July 21 — The Lesotho Police Staff Association (LEPOSA) will appear before the parliamentary Public Accounts Committee (PAC) about its concerns regarding the Public Officers Defined Contribution Pension Fund on Monday.

LEPOSA Secretary Mrs. Makatleho Mphetho told the Agency on Sunday that they resolved to take their grievances regarding the Public Officers Defined Contribution Pension Fund, after their grievances fell on deaf ears.

She said they are seeking fair treatment after realising that the Pension Fund treats them as members of police differently from their Lesotho Defence Force counterparts during retirement and yet they are contributing equally from the same government purse.

Furthermore, Mrs. Mphetho said public servants are not represented at the Pension Fund board of trustees and yet LDF has a representative even though she conceded that the army and police have different laws.
