Botha-Bothe, Aug. 18 — The Christian Council of Lesotho (CCL) in collaboration with the Ministry of Gender, Youth, Sports, Arts, Culture and Social Development celebrated Women’s Month in a remarkable fashion today.
In contrast to previous years when Lesotho women commemorated Africa Women’s Day by addressing specific challenges faced by women in Lesotho, as opposed to the broader African Union agreements Lesotho has ratified, this year’s celebration was dedicated to honoring women who played a significant role in history.
According to CCL Secretary General Mrs. Masechaba Thorela, significant historical insights surfaced in 2021 about women who battled enemies intent on eradicating the village of Moshoeshoe.
