FINANCE DENIES SPONSORSHIP TERMINATION FOR NUL STUDENTS

Maseru, Jan. 21 — The Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) has officially denied recent allegations claiming that the National Manpower Development Secretariat (NMDS) terminated sponsorship for students enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts in Interpretation and Translation program at the National University of Lesotho (NUL).

In a press statement released today, the Ministry clarified that the NMDS has not revoked sponsorship for students in this specific course, highlighting that, in the first place, such a program does not exist at NUL.

“If there is no such course at NUL, then how can NMDS revoke the sponsorship? Even for existing courses, there has never been a case of NMDS terminating sponsorship for students,” emphasized the Ministry in response to the allegations.
