HAWKERS IGNORE ASCENSION, CHOOSE WORK INSTEAD

Maseru, May. 09 – Just a few hours after the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office officially informed the nation that food insecurity continues to haunt the country, the 2024 Ascension day has seen hawkers and other retail stores choosing work over communal worship.  

While some Christians in the city and in the villages were seen dressed in their different Churches regalia’s, attending Ascension day services, some hawkers were all out selling fruits and vegetables in a bid to collect money so as to fend for their families.

To them, the current increase of food prices, coupled with loss of jobs as also mentioned in Minister Limpho Tau’s statement leaves them with no choice but to explore all measures possible in order to put bread on the table. “I am a Christian who fully supports holistically . . .
