Mohale’s Hoek, August. 16 — Representation from the Sub-Accountancy has on Wednesday shared some information regarding the new Public Procurement Act NO .3 of 2023 with Heads of Departments.
Among sections which were discussed was section 59 (1) which throws light on the conduct of a public official related to public procurement, highlighting that a public official involved in requisition, planning, preparing, disposal, issuing approval and conducting a procurement proceeding and administering an implementation of a contract, shall act in the interest of the public and in accordance with objectives and procedures set out in the Act.
Section 62 (1) of the Act indicates that a procuring entity shall annually prepare and submit to the authority its annual procurement plan for a proceeding year for publication on the web portal of a procurement system.
