KING OFFICIALLY OPENS KIDS ACADEMY

Thaba Tseka Apr 01– King Letsie III has officially inaugurated Bocheletsane Kids Academy at Mantsonyane on Monday. 

Speaking at the event, the King said he learnt from his friend in South Africa about ‘The Unlimited child” and then wished there could be such a preschool in Lesotho and had thought about the Prime Minister to introduce the school in Bocheletsane. 

He said he approached the Prime Minister and requested him to open that kind of school and delivered as promised.

The King said he believes in human capital development as he believes that early childhood foundation is the key to everything inclusive of the country’s economy.

The King said the human capital development is good for children will be equipped with skills that will improve their education. 

Talking about early childhood development, he said it is time for the program to be integrated into schools as there are few schools with integration.

At the same event King also presented the school with the learning kits which he said have been provided by Queen ‘Masenate. 

The Prime Minister Mr. Ntsokoane Matekane said they are supporting the Ministry of Education and they are ready to go everywhere the King sends them.

Mr. Matekane said they want to see the future of the children bright countrywide.

Education and Training Minister Professor Ntoi Rapapa said they welcome the centre of excellence in the Thaba Tseka district. 

He said the school is going to be their model school and will learn from it going forward.

Archbishop OMI Tlali Lerotholi said for people to attain highest positions in future they ought to have gotten foundation at pre-school and thanked the PM for the effort taken to bring such to the Mants’onyane community.

He said it is good to have the centre of excellence adding that there is also a church and that means they start with prayer first to get blessings from God. 

He asked them to invest in children for the better improved Lesotho. 

Teacher Mrs. Mabohlale Kherehloa on behalf of the kids passed gratitude to MGC and the Prime Minister for implementing the new curriculum (Unlimited Child) in the country.

She said they promise to work hard adding that there is no longer a need for parents to send their children far from home to access better education as they provide better education. 

Councillor Johan said they are happy to have the nursery opened at Bocheletsane saying they are now seeing results as their children now speak English even when at home.

Matekane Group of Companies (MGC) Chief Operating Officer Mamotake Matekane said among other projects supported by MGC, Mr. Matekane started to sponsor children in 2009 who needed sponsorships to go to school countywide to date. 

Mrs. M said they build the classrooms at Bocheletsane primary and high school in 2005.

She said they call the school the school of excellence saying Bocheletsane Kids Academy is meant to assist the learners to have quality education.

Unlimited child program is the one they have introduced at school.

The school has a cafeteria, store room, nursery, staff, and the classrooms offers construction, fantasy, creative and quite corners.

The Bocheletsane Kids Academy has 21 learners.
