Speaking in an interview with the agency on Thursday, the Chairperson of the group Mr. Bokang Mateyisi said the main purpose of the event is to instil leadership skills into community leaders in different categories.

He said there are many leaders in societies but they fail to leader due to strategies used and lack of knowledge.

Mr. Mateyisi said the skills obtained will help one to lead with love and passion while also developing others in the sectors they are in.

Mateyisi said they are expecting leaders from Leribe and Berea.

Additionally, he highlighted pastors, heads of different church groups, teachers, nurses, doctors, chiefs, principal chiefs, community councillors, business people, Lesotho Mounted Police Service and district administrators.

He said each leader is expected to come with two people he is working with so as to grasp the information together and be able to assist each other.

Referring to youth, he said youth are expected in large numbers as the future leaders.

“Engaging them in leadership seminar at an early age will help them decide on the route to take in establishing amongst others businesses whilst also leading the institutions that they work in, ” she stated.

He said after the seminar, the leaders present will form district groups to host same seminars at district level.

This is the first seminar of its kind hosted by Kolonyama Leadership Group.

The group was formed this year, with the aim of disseminating information on leadership whilst sharpening skills already acquired in all the districts of the country to help develop Lesotho into a better country.
