MINISTRY OF SPORTS REVIEWS TAX REBATE FOR CORPORATES

Maseru, May. 11 — In a bid to boost corporate sponsorship in sports, the Minister of Tourism, Sports, Arts, and Culture, Mr. Motlatsi Maqelepo, has announced the initiation of discussions to review tax rebate terms for corporate entities involved in sponsoring sports initiatives.

Mr. Maqelepo talked of the challenges faced by corporate companies, which often prioritize revenue generation, in engaging with sports sponsorship. Recognizing the potential of sports to unify and uplift communities, he stressed the importance of incentivizing corporate involvement through tax rebates.

“Sports is a driving force for national unity and development,” stated Mr. Maqelepo, highlighting the significance of prioritizing support for sporting activities in Lesotho. . .
