Berea, Sept. 29 — The much anticipated Local Government Elections has finally arrived and at least 893 candidates are contesting for the elections in the entire Berea district.
This was confirmed by the District Electoral Assistant (DEA), Mr. Moeketsi Nkoe during an interview with the Agency on Friday.
Mr. Nkoe said this election is among the highly contested with many candidates battling to find their way into the Community Council seats.
He highlighted that it is unusual for Community Councils like Makeoane D 01 to see 98 people contesting for the elections and this is a clear indication that Basotho are showing much appreciation for the local government elections.
