Maseru, Aug.29 — As of Friday this week (September 01), Water and Sewerage Company (WASCO) will implement new increased water tariffs.
This is according to the statement issued by Lesotho Electricity and Water Authority (LEWA) on Monday. The increment is for the 2023 /24 financial year.
It says that in order to meet the company’s revenue requirement of M232.29 million, water volumetric tariffs will increase by 4.9 percent and standing charges by 1.29 percent.
It notes that in order to meet the required revenue of M36.61 million for sewerage services, the volumetric tariff will be adjusted by 1.57 percent. While water connection fees will be adjusted upwards by 8 percent pending a comprehensive study.
