Quthing, Feb. 07 — The ongoing distribution of vegetable seeds to more than 2800 beneficiaries of Anticipatory Action (AA) for climate shocks World Food Programme (WFP) funded project is expected to be completed during the course of this month.
The vegetable seeds have been distributed to the beneficiaries in more than 50 district Disaster Management Authority (DMA) Food Distribution Points (FDP) located at different areas to help the beneficiaries not to walk long distances to receive their vegetable seeds.
An interview with the Agency, the AA District Project Coordinator who is also the District Disaster Management Officer (DDMO), Mrs. ‘Manaha Posholi said the distribution of seeds started last month as part of their project package for relief from drought that has affected their livelihoods coping strategies.
Mrs. Posholi stated that data of the beneficiaries that have received their vegetable seeds from more than 35 FDPs is currently being complied and the beneficiaries are from five councils of the district namely Telle, Tosing, Qomoqomong, Mjanyane community councils and Quthing Urban council.
