BASOTHO EXPRESS THEIR VIEWS ABOUT 2023/2024 BUDGET AND TAX

Maseru, April. 12 — Basotho express their views about the 2023/2024 budget and tax that has not been increased by the government.

In an interview with the Agency, Mr Kaphe Sello revealed that he was expecting the 2023/2024 budget to be more different from the ones that have been done over the years because they all reveal the same thing even though this one there are new changes.

Moreover, Mr Sello said that he is appealing to the government to consider them as people from Liotloaneng because their main needs are road and electricity.

He added that they have been crying about the same issues to the government for many years but they have not gotten any help as people from Liotloaneng.

He added that he hopes maybe towards the end of this year, the government will have heard their cry.

He said that there are many villages that are not in good condition. He revealed that the past government said that it will improve the things that needed to be improved but to date nothing has been done by the previous government.

Apart from the budget, another source who preferred to remain anonymous said that he is happy about tax not being increased this year because as a person who works for the government, tax being increased was going to make his needs suffer.

He added that he was expecting the new government to increase tax but he was delighted to hear that it is not going to happen.
