NO OFFICIAL COMMUNICATION REGARDING CHIEF MOJELA’S CASE

Maseru, Feb. 19.– The Clerk of the Senate Advocate Ts’eliso Molise has responded to circulating social media reports regarding the case involving Chief Khoabane Mojela of Tebang, stating that there has been no official communication received by the Senate office regarding this matter.

According to these rumors, Chief Mojela stands accused of shooting one of his relatives, Ts’enolo Letsie, allegedly over a perceived hostile glance in May 2020.

In an interview, Adv. Molise clarified that while his office has not been formally notified through written documents or letters, they are aware of the situation through social media channels, like the general public.

Adv. Molise highlighted that following Chief Mojela’s scheduled sentencing this week, the Senate office will await directives from the Ministry of Local Government regarding the appropriate course of action.

He further explained that the potential course of action could involve the swearing-in of a replacement, either on a temporary or permanent basis, depending on the circumstances.
