Maseru, Jul.12 — The District Administrator (DA) for Maseru Mr. Ts’epo Lethobane has encouraged members of the public to participate in the monthly Operation Hloekisa Lesotho Campaign.
Speaking in an interview on Friday, he stated that hygiene is important adding that a clean environment reflects peace. He further added that it also promotes good health. He pointed out that when the public takes part in the cleaning campaign the initiative is sustained unlike when it is the public servants who participate in it and immediately when they leave the members of the public continue to litter the same place which has just been cleaned.
He remarked that initially people did not appreciate the campaign and its intended outcome. He indicated that following awareness campaigns which led to public participation the attitude of the people about the campaign has changed. He said people now understand that they have the responsibility to keep their surroundings clean. . .
