DAMAGED RIVER CROSSING AFFECTS SERVICE DELIVERY

Quthing, Feb. 07 — A damaged Mats’ela-ha-beli river crossing is a serious concern that has negatively impacted public service delivery in three community councils of Quthing district.

The crossing at Mats’ela-ha-beli river benefits different community groups from Mphaki, Telle and Tosing community councils.

In an interview with the Agency, the area Chief of Sejameloli Chieftainess ‘Mantolo Nkuebe said the Mats’ela-ha-beli river crossing is used by public and private transport from various villages in three community councils to access services from district hospital and different government offices and banks in Quthing town.

She stated currently it is hard and risky for trucks to pass Mats’ela-ha-beli river crossing since it is narrow due to damage.

“It is also risky for private and public transport such as taxis that pass at night when drivers can hardly see concrete road surface on the crossing and when the water on the surface is dirty due to rain,” she added.
