FORESTRY EQUIPS ROLEPLAYERS WITH KNOWLEDGE

Qacha’s Nek, Oct.11 — In a bid to transform landscapes and livelihoods, the Department of Forestry through its Regeneration of Livelihoods and Landscapes (ROLL) project has embarked on a two-day training of key stakeholders on natural resources management.

The initiative comes at a time when the district is battling with rangelands burning that has so far left five villagers stranded as their houses were said to have been affected by the fire.

ROLL is a project targeting rural communities to change their lives for the better by adopting sustainable land management practices, leading to enhanced flow of agro-ecosystem goods and services, climate change resilience and household income diversification.
