RFP HOLDS FUN WALK

Maseru, Apr.02 — As part of celebrating one-year anniversary and raising funds, Revolution For Prosperity (RFP) members on Sunday held a fun walk.

The walk which began at RFP office went through Moshoeshoe Road, via Mpilo road then back to the office.

The event was graced with the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Justice Nthomeng Majara, Ministers of Finance and Development Planning, Trade, Industry and Toursim, Public Works and Transport Namely Dr. Rets’elisitsoe Matlanyane, Mokhethi Shelile and Matjato Moteane respectively.

It is at this event that members of Democratic Congress (DC) from different constituencies including Stadium Area, Thabana Morena, Hloahloeng, Qoaling and Ts’oana-Makhulo defected into RFP. Among them was former Basotho National Party (BNP) Leader Ts’eliso Lesenya.

Speaking at the event, Justice Majara welcomed the new members into RFP saying that they have made the right decision by being RFP members.

She said that she knows that they promised Basotho change saying they are willing to deliver on all the promises they had made during the elections campaigns.

“We have encountered problems in terms of finances when we got into power but we will fulfil them especially as we are at the beginning of our prosperous journey,” she added.

She said that the leader Mr. Ntsokoane Matekane has wished all RFP members best in their endeavours.

She urged them to be united for the growth of the party.

On behalf of Members of Parliament (MPs), Stadium Area MP Mrs. ‘Mampho Tjabane – Seutloali said that it is not a day for speeches but to celebrate their journey as RFP to date.

Let us welcome the new members and ensure that they feel at home and are part of us. Believe they have defected after realizing the mandate of RFP which is to improve economic growth

She said that it is the responsibility of each and every one of them to ensure that there is development in constituencies as ambassadors of RFP.  She added that they should mainstream the PM’s dream of changing Lesotho economically, politically and socially.

RFP is one of the 65 political parties registered with the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) and was officially launched on March 22, 2022.

RFP garnered 57 seats in the 2022 general elections and formed a coalition with the Alliance of Democrats (AD) and the Movement for Economic Change (MEC). The coalition has 65 seats in the 120-seat National Assembly.
